In depth
A closer look at SoundPad
With nearly all devices being equipped with a microphone, regardless of recording quality, you might want to process the sound a little before using it in other projects. This is done with specialized applications that are capable of displaying a wavelength so you can analyze sound and know where and what to adjust. SoundPad does just that, with a set of tools easy to use and understand. In terms of visuals, the application sports a simple, yet intuitive interface, somewhat similar to what older versions of Windows used to provide. Playback controls are found in an upper toolbar, giving you the possibility to start, stop, adjust volume or record sound. If you want to capture sound using a connected microphone, this is easily triggered at the press of a button, with the application automatically detecting the proper device to use. However, you are free to browse through the options menu and set input, as well as output devices along with a few corresponding options.
