SharpEye can easily create digital copies of your printed sheet music, which you can load into any music notation or MIDI sequencing application. The operation is suggestively called 'music OCR' and is practically the conversion of scanned sheets into music notation or MIDI files.

OCR for printed music sheets

SharpEye accepts TIFF or bitmap images as input, also allowing direct connection to a TWAIN-compatible scanner for image acquiring. Using the music OCR techonolgy, it is capable of generating MIDI, NIFF or MusicXML files, which can be used with most notation software. Moreover, it can recognize lyrics in various languages, such as English, Albanian, French, German and many more.Converting your paper-based sheets to digital scores saves you time needed to re-write the notes all over again, allowing editing in a virtual environment and fast printing.
