With WillowTALK you can do productive as well as fun things, such as: "read" documents (including Internet Web pages) without looking at your computer; screen proof-read a column of numbers you’ve typed into a spreadsheet against your hard copy version; use an application full-screen while your PC reads the application Help file to you; have your PC periodically announce the time and date and even play a computer speech or wave file alarm at a time you set; and hear how a speech you are writing will sound and have WillowTALK time how long it will take to present.
A really interesting feature is the ability to create "plays" or "scripts" using computer voices. Each character speaks his lines in sequence, and you can save the scripts in files and share them with other WillowTALK users.
With WillowTALK you can listen to an entire document or just a selected portion, tell it how to pronounce unusual words or abbreviations, choose from nine different male and female computer voices, modify and save the computer voices (e.g. making them faster or slower), and more.
Other features include: the ability to save sound output directly to a WAV file, and the ability to control WillowTALK from the DOS command line.
