is a Microsoft "agent" character for the Windows Desktop designed to perform a variety of tasks under voice control.
The program uses Microsoft's animated "Genie" personality to provide a more engaging interface. The Genie accepts your vocal commands to control an alarm clock, CD-ROM player, calendar, and clipboard. He even talks, answering your requests in a synthesized voice. For instance, your can ask Genie to "say the time," and he responds, "The time is now..."
Until you invoke the Genie to show himself, Desktop Agent runs as a convenient "magic lamp" icon in the System Tray area of the Windows taskbar. You may hear him yawn or snore when you are not keeping him busy.
