uses Microsoft Agent Animated Characters to read and speak aloud the contents of any text document or the Clipboard.

A closer look at Speak

Just keep the cool animated character on top and click on him whenever you want him to read for you. He can read your documents, e-mail messages, Web pages, or Clipboard text. You can also let Speak run your applications just by saying the name of the application in your microphone. You can run Speak at Windows startup and the character will greet you and inform you of the time and date, or just ask the character about the time and date and it will respond. You can add quick notes and Speak will read them for you when asked, or remind you at a set time.

You can adjust the reading speed (in words per minute) and the pitch to your liking.

NOTE: If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.02 or later, you already have Microsoft Agent Services installed. If you're not sure, you can go to the author's site to download it.

After that, go to the author's site to download a character (e.g. the Genie, Merlin, etc.) and you're ready to use Speak.
