Exactly with this purpose in mind, Notes By George! is a lightweight notes editor with multiple slots, which can sit on your desktop for quick text editing. Once installed, and launched, a classic window frame shows up on your desktop, with a colored background, clear, and intuitive set of controls. Accommodation is a walk in the park, with most of the window space representing the text edit area, while extra, and navigation controls are found in an upper toolbar. The note can be moved on the desktop, and minimized to system tray, although this option needs to be selected from the options panel first. Unfortunately, you can’t keep more notes, or instances of the application on screen at the same time. However, you can work with multiple notes, but these are cycled through controls, or picked from a drop-down menu, changing the current layout.
