is a first-person, 3D multiplayer shooter with a storyline that revolves around a mythical samurai sword.
You play the role of Hiro Miyamoto, an archaeology student working for the renowned Dr. Ibihara. The sword had been lost for centuries, but was discovered by Dr. Ibihara's team at Japan's Mount Fujiyama. Ibihara was murdered by his assistant who then stole the precious Daikatana. With it, he travelled 425 years into the past, and stole the cure for the AIDS virus and claimed it as his own.
Urged by the pleas of Ibihara's daughter Mikiko, you set out to reclaim the Daikatana, go back into the past to set history straight, and prevent Dr. Ibhara's murder from ever happening.
But you're not alone in your travels. You're accompanied by AI-controlled allies Mikiko and Superfly Johnson, both with their own personalities and skills.
Daikatana features a complex and rich storyline; completely distinctive environments, weapons, art, music, and creatures in each of the four episodes; superior AI, including dialogue between Hiro and his computer-controlled sidekicks; and more.
Daikatana was designed by John Romero, a co-creator of Doom, Heretic, Hexen, and Quake.
