A closer look at ESF's Bar Code 128

Bar code 128 is a type of bar code designed for high density alphanumeric work. It is quickly replacing bar code 3 of 9 as the most popular bar code. This set includes all three subsets (A, B, and C) of bar code 128. Subsets A and B let you encode the full ASCII character set. Subset C is used for ultra high density numeric work. A variation of subset C, (simply including the FNC1 code after the start digit), produces UCC / EAN 128 bar codes.

This set includes both human readable and plain versions of the 128 bar code. Each TrueType bar code comes in three different aspect ratios, so you can vary the height and width of the bars independent of each other. This lets you print bar codes with the same height, but different horizontal print densities.
