allows you to compose, edit, and play MIDI and MIDI-Karaoke files.
You can add lyrics to an existing MIDI file and save it as a Karaoke file, as well as cut, copy, or paste full tracks or selected groups of notes into a file.
Midi Works can handle up to 32 tracks with 7,000 notes per track, and includes a 16-channel mixer that enables you to change the volume, pan, chorus, reverb, and tempo in real-time during the playback.
You can also solo or mute any channel during the playback, and a Vu meter and an active channel indicator let you know the operating status of any given channel.
The program uses counters to indicate the number of notes and lyric events that you have entered on a track, and allows you to easily modify the voice of a channel, or change the channel assignment of any track.
Any changes that you make in the mixer during the playback can be stored in the file, and the staff and lyrics are animated during playback.
In addition, the playback output can be set to play through your MIDI-compatible sound card or through an external keyboard connected to a MIDI port, and if you hook up a microphone to your sound card mic input, you can sing along with your tune as you watch the words scroll by perfectly synchronized.
Please note that the program also runs in Windows 3.1.
