Overview

What is Dynamic Distribution Lists (DynDL)?

is a server extension for Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5, also known as a Custom Agent.

In depth

A closer look at Dynamic Distribution Lists (DynDL)

Dynamic Distribution Lists turns a Microsoft Exchange mailbox into an automated administrator for a distribution list as well as into a redistribution mailbox to all members of that distribution list.

Any user of the Microsoft Exchange organization, and even any user external to that organization, can subscribe or unsubscribe to or from a distribution list simply by sending an e-mail to the mailbox controlling that distribution list. You just have to mention 'subcribe' (respectively 'unsubscribe') as the subject of that mail. While being a member of that dynamic distribution list, any mail you send to the controlling mailbox is automatically redistributed to all members of that distribution list. Beside the server extension module, the product is also composed of a wizard that helps bind DynDL to one or more Microsoft Exchange mailboxes.
