The program works with Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express, as well as any MAPI-compatible e-mail client. It includes over 25 text-to-speech voices based on Microsoft Agent.

Email Talks's features include: automatic checking for new e-mail with the ability to specify the time delay between verifications; automatic subject or message read out; and the ability to customize the default announcements and select the voice.

The program runs as a convenient icon in the System Tray area of the Windows taskbar.
