is an Internet accelerator utility designed to optimize your dial-up Internet connection by changing certain settings in your Windows Registry.
To increase your modem's throughput, SpeedConnect strives to reduce data transfer fragmentation under the Internet's TCP/IP protocols. Windows 95 and 98 default settings are not optimized for accessing the Internet with a modem. Thus, SpeedConnect may be able to speed up your Internet-related software by adjusting Windows Registry settings with values know to work well for modem connections. This can translate into faster web browsing, faster e-mail, quicker downloads, and improved overall Internet performance.
You can have SpeedConnect automatically choose recommended settings for your current Windows version and selected connection type (modem or LAN), or you can choose your settings manually. The program has options for setting the MTU, MSS, PMTU Auto Discovery, PMTU Black Hole Detect, RWIN, Slownet, SACK, Duplicate Acknowledgements, Maximum Connections per Server, and Session Keep Alive parameters.
It supports multiple network adapters and works with AOL.
