Australian Explorer includes a learn mode and a question mode. You can choose whether to study states, capital cities, features, deserts, rivers, islands, mountains. In the learn mode you click on a state, capital or land feature on the map and the program displays the name along with information about it. In the quiz mode the program displays the name of a state, capital or land feature and asks you to find it on the map.
Europe Explorer includes a learn mode and a question mode. You can choose whether to study countries or capital cities. In the learn mode you click on a country/city on the map and the program displays the name of that country/city. In the quiz mode the program displays the name of a country/city and asks you to find it on the map. When a country is selected (in either mode) the program displays information about that country.
In World Explorer the program displays a colored map of the world. In the learn mode you click on a country and the program displays the name of that country. In the quiz mode the program displays the name of a country and asks you to find it on the map.
A hangman-type game (using a bug moving towards a spider) is included with Australian Explorer and Europe Explorer to reinforce the material covered in each program.
Sounds and animations are used to give positive reinforcement to levels achieved.
