A closer look at Boot Drive Lock

The program modifies the first physical hard disk in your system to prevent its removal and access from another system. Boot Drive Lock allows no access to the C: drive when the system starts from a boot floppy disk. Furthermore, it prevents unauthorized alteration of your computer's boot process (DOS or Windows 95/98 startup files) or secondary security systems. No access to any data on this drive (or any of its logical drives) is possible unless the system boots normally or you use a secured, password-protected boot floppy.

Boot Drive Lock monitors the master boot record for changes during the boot process and notifies you if the checksum fails. This feature provides warning of possible MBR virus infection.

The program adds a password-protected configuration control to the Windows Control Panel for ease of setup and administration. No hardware or BIOS configuration is necessary, but you may want to set your BIOS to disallow booting from A: and to require a password before accepting further changes.
