GabScreenshot is a feather-light application that gives you the possibility to capture the screen in different modes and automatically save images to file with various extensions. It features an intuitive set of options that can be approached even by inexperienced users.

Systray integration and hotkey support

Once launched, it gets integrated into the taskbar notifications area and shows a balloon message with the keyboard shortcuts assigned for grabbing the screen: Ctrl + PrintScreen for full screen, Alt + PrintScreen for active window, and Shift + PrintScreen for custom region.

Configure snapshot settings

By opening the tray icon's right-click menu, you can access the preferences panel to choose the preferred image format (PNG, JPEG, GIF, BMP, ICO, TIFF, WMF, EMF), destination folder, filename prefix, and numeric padding length.Moreover, you can preview the filenames, adjust the opacity level during the region capture, hide the tooltip with the keyboard shortcuts on startup, as well as ask GabScreenshot to automatically run every time you turn on your computer, until further notice. No setup required, besides .NET Framework

Since there is no installation involved, you can save the downloaded files to a custom directory on the hard disk or copy them to a USB flash drive to directly run the program on any PC by just double-clicking its .exe.However, you must have .NET Framework installed, since it was developed with the aid of this platform. Evaluation and conclusion

It worked smoothly in our tests, without hanging, crashing or indicating errors. CPU and RAM usage was low. Thanks to its approachable options, GabScreenshot can be easily handled by anyone who wants to quickly take screenshots.
