Image Resize is a lightweight and simple-to-use tool with a name that pretty much describes its functionality - it allows you to change the size of your image files. The application supports only the JPG format.The interface of the program is based on a standard window. Importing pictures can be done by using only the file browser or folder view because the "drag and drop" method is not supported. It is possible to work with multiple entries at the same time.So, you can preview the image, specify its new size and save the new file (as JPEG or GIF) after establishing the output directory and filename.Additionally, you can rotate photographs and access the "Settings" area to select another aspect ratio (4:3, 16:9, 16:10) or to disable Image Resize from preserving it.The simplistic program requires a moderate amount of CPU and system memory, in order to finish a task quickly. It is very responsive and outputs pictures with a good quality. We have not come across any difficulties throughout our testing; Image Resize did not freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs. There is no help file available but that's because the app can be easily used, even by less experienced individuals.On the downside, you cannot minimize the tool to the system tray or set it to close the application or to open the output directory when all tasks are done. Also, we would have liked to see support for additional file types, such as PNG, BMP, TIF and TGA.
