If you have very large collections of photos that you would like to cram in a cloud account or a removable drive with a limited capacity, then it's necessary to reduce image size as much as possible without losing quality.E-Mage is an ultra-simple application that can give you a helping hand in this regard. It's dedicated to JPG, PNG, SVG and GIF optimization. The tool features multiple optimization algorithms for these graphical filetypes, letting you choose the preferred ones.

Optimize JPG, PNG, SVG and GIF files with ease

Installing the utility takes little time since there are no special options involved in the setup. It's wrapped in a user-friendly interface that displays three stages for running an optimization job: choosing the algorithms, picking the image files, and viewing results.It's necessary to set the algorithms before adding the files since they will be immediately optimized afterward. Also, you should know that the original files are processed, so there's no way of undoing changes after the task is done.

Reduce the size of multiple images in bulk

On the other hand, choosing the algorithms is something that only advanced users are probably interested in. The default configuration grants the best optimization results anyway, since all algorithms are used by E-Mage, without any conflicts.One or more photos can be dropped in the main window, thanks to the fact that multiple graphic files can be reduced in size in batch mode. However, it's not possible to drop a folder but only a multi-selection of files.

Compare file size before and after optimization

Once all files are optimized, you can inspect results on the bottom size of the main window: original and new size, percentage of reduced size, and used tools. The last line shows the amount of total saved bytes and percentage.We haven't come across any compatibility issues with the newest Windows version in our tests.
