Acdsee Photo Editor is an application that lets you edit image files by providing you with essential tools.The user interface of the program is easy to navigate through. You can import pictures by using the file browser or the "drag and drop" method.Once you open a new work area, you can select the background color, image size, orientation and resolution, as well as configure bleed options.So, you can view a histogram and navigator palette, zoom in and out, or create a blank image, vector shape (e.g. rectangle, line, oval) and text (horizontal or vertical).In addition, you can rotate, flip, resize, trim, smoothen and warp the image, set the color depth, apply a drop shadow, create a brush and make dynamic adjustments.When it comes to effects, you can opt for artistic (e.g. blinds, crayon drawing, glowing edges, oil paint), automatic adjustments (e.g. color balance, color, sharpen, levels), blur (e.g. average, motion, Gaussian, motion).But you can also make adjustments concerning color (e.g. balance, equalization, grayscale, posterize), distort (e.g. bulge, emboss, pixelate, mirror), light (e.g. normalize histogram), noise (e.g. despeckle, dust and scratches) and sharpen.Furthermore, you can use tools for red eye reduction, sharpen, blur, sponge, smudge, dodge, burn, color picker, repair and rubber stamp, as well as apply automatic fix, color balance, contrast and levels, and more.The program takes up a very high amount of system resources and includes a comprehensive help file with tutorials and snapshots. No errors have popped up during our tests. On the other hand, some effects can take several seconds to be applied, especially when we're talking about automatic adjustments.All in all, Acdsee Photo Editor is a very good tool for editing image files and we strongly recommend it to all users.
