PhotoResizerQt is a simple application that can help in this regard. It's a free and open-source project designed to resize photographs to predefined dimensions, ranging from 800px to 2048px (width). Batch processing is possible, so you can ask the tool to resize multiple pictures at the same time.Wrapped in a simple-looking interface that puts emphasis on intuitive options above all else, the application has two separate areas designated for single and batch resizing mode.

Keeps the aspect ratio when resizing photos

The options are the same for both cases, anyway: select image files from your computer, preview them in the main window in full or make them fit the panel, then ask the software utility to proceed with the resizing. Since the new height cannot be selected, it goes without saying that PhotoResizerQt automatically preserves the aspect ratio.The original graphical files do not get overwritten with the new, resized images. This means that it's not necessary to create backups before using this app. Instead, new files are created and saved in the same directory as the original counterparts. To tell them apart, the program appends the new width to the filename.
