Image Steganography : Secures data when sharing files with other users by embedding text or files of any types into images, featuring optional encryption
Image Steganography is a very simple-to-use piece of software that lets you keep text or files of any types hidden inside images, which is particularly practical when sharing private information with other users. The tool includes a few handy options that can be easily figured out.
Quick setup and simple GUI
Installing the tool does not take a long time. Its user-friendly interface consists of a single window that provides quick access to all main options. So, you can get started by specifying the mode of operation (encoder or encode), pointing out an image file using the drag-and-drop support, and indicating the input/output data type (file or text), along with the saving directory and new file name (PNG format). The steganography mode can be selected between embedding the text or file into the image, enlarging the output image size, and by difference. Encrypting data with a password is optional, in case you want an extra layer of security.
Evaluation and conclusion
The app is undemanding when it comes to CPU and RAM, so it does not affect the overall performance of the PC. We have not come across any issues in our tests, since the tool did not hang, crash or pop up error messages. Although its interface is not attractive, Image Steganography offers a simple solution for carrying encrypted messages and files, and it can be handled by all types of users, regardless of their previous experience with such tools.
