Words are presented on a background of a blurry, unfocused image, and if they are correctly overtyped within the time limit, the picture is presented unblurred and focused accompanied by music as a reward.
WorkBook uses timed play to enhance your child's learning. Since the game is never over, there is no real penalty even if a screen times out.
WorkBook's games and activities are centered around the main menu, where the child can play the game, review or clear the score, and load an alternate workbook.
Typing is only done using the alphanumeric keys. Punctuation is added automatically, and lettercase is not important. The mouse and the arrow keys are used for navigation.
Workbook uses BMP and PCX graphics, and is easily expandable. It comes with a basic lesson plan, WORKMAKE.DBF, a dBASE III format database, which can be customized to present new pictures, music files, and vocabulary, and vary the time limit for each sentence or word.
In addition, you can add your own lesson plans.
