This is a Linux port of the ftp server (ftpd) found in OpenBSD 2.4 (the version number of the OpenBSD version is 6.3 and the version
number of this port is 0.1.0 - first public release of it).
This server is not as featureful as wu-ftpd but it has the advantage
of being smaller and (presumably) safer. As there have been some
possible security issues with wu-ftpd recently, this is one possible
alternative.
The port (i.e. my work) consisted of providing an ugly replacement for
some BSD-specific functions, and adapting the authentication mechanism
to use Linux PAM.
